THe BuZz

Call it what you want to call it. People ain't falling in love no more. People are just getting thirsty on each others social media, making small talk, catching feelings hitting it off and going back to being strangers.

We living in a generation where image is everything. Social media has made us hungry for likes and reactions that we have forgotten the important things. My dad once said  he is never going to join Facebook ,if you wanna be his friend  You rather be his friend face to face. It didn't make sense to me then but now that am a little wiser,  I feel that on a personal level.

For any friendship/Relationship   thrive, there has to be more than what meets the eye. Personally I ain't friends with nobody I don't know in person....I know some people will say thats antisocial behaviour but on a personal level, I  ain't about to put myself in a position where I have to explain myself to a judgmental society that does not understand my struggle or the reasons I  do what I  do.

You have to understand people better before they can truly be your friends...theres so many fake people pretending to like you just because you give them something to talk about. Don't get me wrong  I know there are bonds that have been formed on social media  that are unbreakable,  I  know  people have found their life partners business partners , prayer patners whatever. But there had to be more.

Females got us thirsty on their instagram...we love it just as much as they love the reactions. Its like a thriving drug business. .they fuel our addiction we fuel their esteem. We might holla from time to time just because we like what we see. It might be genuine sometimes but when you get to meet the person you were thirsty for on the gram it all begins to wear out. Beyond the make up and the filters its just your average human being.Beyond the numerous nights out is just another human struggling with addiction. Beyond the "check out my new car" posts is just an average human struggling with debts. Beyond that cute family picture is a dead beat father whose wife is struggling to stand in for all of them. Not everything You see on the gram is real.

No one shows their bad side on social media. Its a silent competition within themselves about who would wear what better who has travelled to which place and who has more money blablabla. No one will come to the gram struggling in  a job, no one will come online to speak about a broken family/Relationship. No one comes to social media to seek help they just come to show you they are fine. And we have made it  a culture to always believe them we even ridicule and bash people online who really are in dire need of our help . Thats society to you! !

So with that said lets not put too much emphasis on what we see on social media. That life is virtual. You want to live  a fulfilling life...join a support group,  give back to the society start a charity organization. Attend social events that don't have to happen at night..Go to church!!! Have conversations with people you meet on the streets.  Lets learn to put our phones down and actually listen.
