DOGUMENTARY

I woke up in those ungodly hours, drenched in sweat, my mind was a blur. I couldn't really tell what was going on, I couldn't tell my left from right. It felt like the universe was punishing me for my unruly behavior last weekend. My heart was racing like I had just completed a marathon in under two hours,my eyes? They couldn't see jack shit, I'm virtually blind! The only thing I see well is memes on my phone. My head was banging louder than my neighbors last night.

I sat up reached out for my phone, some light. I came to, it was a nasty dream. Damn why do I still have these? Aren't they supposed to leave when you're grow older? So I thought but these ghosts have a funny way of keeping you company. To cut the rather short story shorter, it was a nightmare, one that involved me squealing like a child. I threw some sweatpants on reached out for the lighter and went outside to smoke and do some push-ups thereafter. I do that when I want to clear mind, works like a charm all the time.

So, I meet Gwen like she was just standing there waiting for me, that intrusive look on her face. She looked like she was about to ask, so what is it this time? That old girl gets me though , thats why we have been together for over a decade dog years. I pat her and walk straight passed to go do  my thing but she is relentless, she follows. She lets me finish as she watches from a distance. She sits down with me and just stares as if to say, ''go ahead human talk its just you and me out here''

Gwen is typically that 35-40 milf, she still has her looks apart from some bags of flesh on her rather strong and energetic body. She has been in love before but she already made up her mind that's not a thing for her, she had a few children but she sent them off to boarding school early and some are living their best lives out of the country, she wishes they could visit sometime but she missed out on them growing up alot she wouldn't know where to start the conversation. She loves them regardless. She has seen life! Her husband ran off and her new love didn't last a day.  She has a young boyfriend in the neighborhood but that guy is never coming out of the friendzone. She killed a bitch in self defense once.  Tried having kids in her 30s but it just didn't work so she adopted a pair of twins unfortunately one didn't make it. So she has this daughter, one they have a love hate relationship with because, you know raising teenage girls? She is cultured and classy.

Beyond all that ,she is a sweet woman with too much soul but she will call you out on your bullshit and her No means no. She has principles and standards. She takes time in the shower, to her appearance is everything. You will never catch her looking drab. She loves to play and damn can she run, faster than me.  Best of all she listens and she never judges, and she gives hugs the best ones. She licks faces also but only if she really loves you. She is a fierce protector and will never let anything or anyone harm you. She is everything I ever wanted in a pet.

By the way, happy new year!! How could I forget. ( You better get used to this because I will happy new year you until this year is not new anymore!). So second week of the month,how y'all feeling? Have the results of the poor decisions you made in December started trickling in?  Have you sent the kids off to school? Do you still fit into your favorite Monday outfit? Did you cut off that nosey co-worker? Good riddance no? I hope you are all enjoying your vegetable salad because we all know too much meat brings the doctor closer.

Mwalimu a.k.a Daktari called me afew days ago. (Nowadays we talk about alot thanks to distance and boredom). She met a puppy that walked all over her heart with those love paws. She is thinking of adoption. See? I infect people around me with the dog bug. Anyway I laughed and I was happy, who is she kidding? She cant take care of a baby for five minutes where's she going to get the patience for a puppy. Lesson number one, patience. I was happy because I will be glad to take that puppy of her hands when I finally get that call," Allan, I am tired!" The finality would be the cue, she's mine now!


If you considering to get a puppy this year, for whatever reason. You may be lonely and this your country men are takataka (like the happily in relationships women I know say) or you have seen your favorite celebrity couple with a puppy so you think its cool. You may also be a young couple keen on getting hitched in the near future, I highly recommend get a puppy before you get children or a cat.

Generally, a dog is mans best friend. There is a dog for everyone, that's how the  universe was created. However, it takes time and commitment to nurture that best friend.
